Subject Description
This subject explores the growing use of digital technologies by consumers for health management, sharing data, accessing services, and engaging in health research. While these technologies can enhance participation and improve healthcare systems, they may also lead to inequity, misinformation, and unethical data use. Learners will develop critical perspectives on consumer health technologies through modules on digital health literacy, the global marketplace, user experiences, and consumer participation in health system design. Teaching methods include live tutorials, webinars, readings, and case studies. Assessments address real-world challenges in using digital tools for consumer-centred care and community engagement.
