Subject Description

This subject equips students with practical insights into the production and strategic dissemination of Indigenous health data, focusing on governance and research from a jurisdictional perspective. It covers key topics such as ethical health research, governance, knowledge translation, data collections, and evaluation. Students will explore engaging Indigenous communities meaningfully and developing ethical, collaborative research partnerships. The course examines research methodologies, including decolonizing approaches, capacity development, and the integration of research with primary healthcare systems. Through challenging case studies, students will confront tensions and dilemmas in Indigenous health, focusing on capacity exchange and research transfer.
