Subject Description
The Comprehensive Rural Health Project (CRHP) in Jamkhed, India, has inspired global health initiatives, including the Declaration of Alma Ata. This three-week residential subject allows students to immerse themselves in the Jamkhed Model of community health and development in central Maharashtra. Students will engage in field visits, seminars, and discussions with project staff and local professionals, gaining insights into primary health care in resource-poor settings. The program emphasizes understanding the CRHP's community-based, multi-sectoral approach to issues like mortality, poverty, and gender inequity. Applications for this subject are managed by The Nossal Institute for Global Health.
