Subject Description

This subject is a compulsory subject within the Master of Public Health that aims to develop the practical leadership and management skills necessary for the public health workforce. Public Health Leadership and Management will introduce students to relevant theories and models of public health leadership and project management. This knowledge will be grounded in real-life case studies of public health significance, lectures with experts in the field, interactive sessions to practice skills and small team exploration and presentation on important public health projects, including Indigenous health project.

Wish the tutorial could be used for project development so we don’t need to spend too much extra time on this

Its week three of this subject, and I absolutely despise this subject, a lot of it is common sense, the lectures are superfluous, the tutor is oblivious, the Canvas page is half done, beyond disappointed!!

Of the core subjects in the MPH, this was most poorly organised. Not a lot of guidance on what was required for the assessments. Unlike the previous responder, I did not have leadership experience in the field and found some of the anecdotes about individual guests' experiences interesting. However, this wasn't particularly relevant for assessments
